they say a body needs 900 calories (minimum) to function properly. if you are burning more than 300 calories in exercise, there's your reason...

i would suggest you increase your caloric intake by how much you plan to burn off (on the treadmill/elliptical/whatever)

consult your trainer and tell them that you want to lose weight but you also want to be fit. compensate with food what you lose in the gym!

for a maximum weight loss, you will need a combination of weight training program (for girls too), cardio exercises and good diet. 5-6 small meals a day is ideal. what i do is i have smaller main meals with snacks in between, something like a sandwich and fruits. it is great to stretch, as it will not only improve your flexibility but also prevent you from injuries and decrease recovery time. ideally, you should do one to two weight training sessions every week and cardio every other days at an appropriate intensity. I would recommend a boxing class too, it is one of the best whole body cardio workouts out there and it does take your stress from everyday life out of you too. well if you love chips, thats fine, but have it at a moderate level, and some marathone runners just shovel whatever they can into their mouth for a few days after a competitiion, as they have used up so much fat and energy in their body. so the harder you work they more crap you can eat, but still i wouldnt recommend having too much. another good tip is go take a short nutrition course even just for a couple of hours, after hearing all the science, you will actually feel guilty when you eat too much of unhealthy food, and all your hard work put in the gym is all wasted. hope that helps :) alcohol helps a lot in weight gain too

I agree with the others. Many people find that after they start exercising they get on the scales and they have put on weight.

You need to ignore the scales, throw them out. Begin to measure your body fat, or simply look in the mirror and ask yourself if your body is looking better. If your working out and eating healthy I am sure it will be.

Try the tony little gazelle or similiar models. Its a machine you stand on and walk. Very easy on the joints so if your not used to working out. It doesnt cost too much and I found it to be the best workout I can do. I love mine.

Right well i would say do as much walking as you can, if not try some light jogging or rowing if you have access to the equipment. half an hour of exercise, that will bring out a sweat, a day and then if you fancy toning your muscles, I would try to begin with use 2 pieces of equipment (weights) per muscle group everyday doing 3 sets of 8-12 reps on each.
Back muscles and biceps are trained by anything you pull towards you, chest and triceps is anything you push away.
Try it out and contact me after you have begun to build a good base, then you can start the concentration methods (one muscle group per day)
