Comprehensive New PDU Background Paper Available

The purpose of this document is to encapsulate the requirements
and expectations for a Product Data Utility (PDU) that have been
defined to date. Consolidation of these many facets into one
document will help in the following ways:
a. Provide clarity and help ensure all initiative participants are on-board
    and in agreement with the described objectives and operational vision
b. Help recruit new constituents towards commitment for future participation and adoption
c. Establish the expectations for services and performance from any organization wanting to
    host or act as an aggregator or other service provider for the PDU
d. May be used as a framework for a future RFP
e. This document provides a guideline to evaluate and help define the roles and
    requirements a service provider should be prepared to meet.
