In the business world, one of the biggest
barriers to fixing industry-wide problems isn't always in
identifying the proper solutions. Many times, it's determining
who's responsible for tackling the problem. In the health care
industry, one of the most pressing business problems is the
need to establish a common language in purchasing transactions,
something routinely done in other industries. It's estimated
that billions of dollars could be saved annually if all parties
in the health care supply chain used the same codes to identify
