Cdc Lyme Disease

A little help? About bacteria reproduction cycles and antibiotics?

We Answered:

I don't have an answer for you but just wanted to applaud you for helping her out. I knew via her facebook status what was going on but wasn't aware of how serious it is (nor about the possible weaning) - good luck with your research.

Jimmy Said:

Should you setup a (non-insured) appointment for a suspected tick bite?

We Answered:

Well I have gotten tick bites before and never went to the doctor. I also got Lyme and a had a bull-seye rash from it two weeks later and the doctor just put me on antibiotics. If you don't have any symptoms you are probably in the clear and no need to go to the doctor but that is just me.

Tyrone Said:

do i have a weak immune system?

We Answered:

I'd bet money that you do. I also have a history of Lyme and other tick borne infections. My doctor once told me "You don't have AIDS but you DO have an acquired immune dysfunction." My understanding is that decades of fighting multiple infections have pretty much exhausted the system. The upside of this situation is that I now have the motivation and excuse to baby MY immune system. I make sure I get lots of sleep, moderate exercise, nutritious food. And I AVOID stressful relationships, alcohol, drug use, and unsafe sex. Not to do so would be suicidal. There's lots of information on the internet and in books about how to take care of yourself.

Erin Said:

What are my chances of getting infected?

We Answered:

Daammmnnnn!
WTF?
Get a test and forget it. Can you say PHOBIC? I thought you said you had protected vaginal sex . . . If you are this paranoid man you'll never be able to enjoy sex at all. Get some ammonia, scrub in it, then scrub in bleach, then don two or three condoms, pray, inject yourself with an antibiotic--any kind will do--then proceed with full surgical scrubs and . . . .&^%&*)(_
